In September 2013 I headed to the Yukon with my buddy Jon Paine for 11 days of discovery. Most of this movie was shot during our 5 nights camping in Tombstone Territorial Park as well as along the Dempster & Alaska highways. While we experienced everything from driving rain, wind & snow (in the alpine), when the skies cleared and then the northern lights came out ... well, there are few words that do justice to such an experience. I'll just start with 'mind.blown'! On a personal note, to be able to share it with Jon added immensely to the experience - not only was he the chief cook and bottle washer, he was a great sport & simply fun to hang out with - especially on the not so sunny days! And thank you Sue for loaning his skills to me! The Yukon is now under my skin and I will be back for many years to come. This short film is the result of 3 years of exploring Whistler's amazing mountains, lakes and 'deep sky' (incl parts of Garibaldi Provincial Park). After many 'adventures', countless sleepless nights & untold frames (from my reliable Nikon gear), I've only scratched the surface of what's around this stunning place I call home - Whistler, BC.
